Hello my fellow human Beings:

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines SLEEP as:

‚Äúthe natural periodic suspension of consciousness during which the powers of the body are restored‚ÄĚ

Ahhhh, yes, that is what we all want each night, just some time for the powers of our bodies to be restored. This rest period is especially desired and needed when we are sick, tired, overworked, anxious, overwhelmed, and physically and mentally exhausted.

We all lead busy, active lives (even if it’s more mentally active than physically active). Our senses are continually bombarded by stimuli a countless number of times each day. So at the end of the day, we look forward to that needed break from the hustle and bustle of fully conscious wakefulness.

Sleep helps us naturally restore our bodies’ energy, heal our ailments, and provide rest for our active minds.

However, these benefits of sleep will only happen if we properly…

– A good night’s sleep
Just today, my dear colleague, Catherine Baldi from ARC Painting¬†mentioned during our networking meeting that her secret to success is a good night sleep. People laughed in agreement. It goes unsaid, but, it is a fact of facts that sleep is beyond¬†beneficial. Even without fully grasping what sleep does for us, we are fully aware that going without sleep for too long makes us feel like poopie-poop, and that getting a joyful night’s sleep will surely make us feel ready like royalty!

And, while I tend to be a night owl, I revere a good night sleep. Get informed and sleep on

– A good mattress
When it comes to getting a good night’s sleep, there’s no question — your mattress matters. But with so many choices — traditional coil, air, latex, and memory foam mattresses being some of the top contenders — buying a new one can be a nightmare…¬†Get informed!

– A good pillow
Awww… Fluffy, firm, snuggly, safe… ?|Ugh… Who knew all these factors would come into play when choosing a pillow?

Well, they do. Learn a bit, and sleep cozy!

– Melatonin
This one might be a bit controversial and scandalous… However, it has done wonders for my sleep quality and for my dreams ūüôā
Seriously, 3mg. slow-release melatonin has worked wonders for me (personally)

Sumptuousness, luxury, ¬†debaucherbleh…
What am I talking about? Hell if I know…
Hee, hee…
Wait, wait! I do know. I’m talking about loving our surroundings, our clothing, our visual environment.
This does not mean complete and total transformation of the above. It means: rehabilitation, resuscitation, purging, reincarnation, rebirth, discover and re-discover. Re-purpose… It means: Do, whatever you need to do, in order to transform, and fall in love with, your surroundings ūüôā
Maybe a quick and cheap coat of paint? Sustainable, of course ūüėČ
How about donating stuff you no longer need?
Maybe organizing…¬†BIG or small time?
Or, re-designing, stat!
Or is it cleaning… deeply?
Let’s get personal… What if the outside is not in alignment with the inside? Does your appearance need refreshing? Is your wardrobe outdated?
Your outside should always be aligned with your spirit. ¬†If you are shy and demure, shouldn’t your clothes hint so?¬†If you are progressive and edgy, shouldn’t your appearance scream so?
Maybe a combination of it all?
This is the time to truly enjoy your environment, whatever it takes…
For your surroundings dictate your mood, and your mood dictates your day…

Did you know that most (Western) people spend more time at work than they do at their home/personal life (not counting sleep)?
Yup. It’s a fact.
Since that is true, then: how is one’s psyche affected when one loathes one’s environment and co-workers? Let us be less severe… What if we spend the core of our day doing things we dislike alongside people we do not care for?
Hmmm…
Food for thought.
I’d rather earn little doing something I love, than earn lots doing something I hate.
Money is but energy.
Money means nothing if happiness is not present.
Happiness is everything.
Money follows.
If you do what fulfills you, what makes you happy and thrive; money is merely a byproduct.
A byproduct of happiness and talent.
A means, not a way.

I have a bit of trouble with these lyrics… They feel unsettling, while they are settling. Yes, they are positive, in a way. They also reek of: “Oh well…”
I truly and wholeheartedly believe that you should be with the one you love… And loves you back.
Reciprocity. Oh, reciprocity. The magic. That magical moment when you know that what you feel is accepted, received, and returned, full-force. AMAZING.
MAGICAL.
To say: “Oh, I can’t be with the one I love, so I will love the one that is here”, is a disservice to both parties. There are billions of people in the world, and the concept of the “One”, is way over and underrated all at once… There are -not one- but hundreds of potentially suitable partners for each and every one of us at any given time. It is important to remember that we are all constantly growing, evolving… changing. And in the midst of change, we might encounter a “One” that is diving into that very wave, that very second… Oh, the¬†uncertainties, the fun, the mystery!
Fear… always latent and ominous… Fuck it!
If it ain’t wrong, A-okay.
If it ain’t right, fix it!
Don’t prolong a sure-death, and definitely, don’t live through a nightmare!
If you don’t love the one you’re with: GO! MOVE! FLY!
While it may be hard to start over, it will be exciting, and fulfilling!

A silent voice that promotes disarray and unhappiness. It says: “You are not smart/beautiful/slender/successful/(fill in the blank) enough”.
The truth is, that the silent voice is wrong. WRONG.¬†Each of us has a choice.¬†¬†A true and palpable choice to be whatever we want to be…
Regardless of our shortcomings. Regardless of our situation, our birthright -or lack thereof-. Regardless of our limitations, our set of inherited beliefs…
We: YOU and ME, have the innate capacity to make the best of ourselves! It is all about making that choice, and sticking to our guns all the way through.

Natural Ways of Fighting Colds this Winter
